Six months ago, I hit a breakthrough painting. I let the painting be minimal and spare. Instantly, my world expanded. I was staring at a minimal painting that was just as exciting as the other worked pieces I had on the wall. In a minimal painting, the emphasis becomes about the colors and the marks. With less on the canvas, ironically there is more to enjoy. This series of paintings emerged like a butterfly out of a cocoon. The three large paintings, Limitless, Soaring and Enchanted, so beautifully capture this range of expression and expansion of scale. The rest of the paintings both contrast and complement this new world that opened up to me.
