Exhibit: Echoes and Locations
Playing on the term “Echolocation”, wherein animals and technology use the reflection of their own sound to determine where they are in physical space. Much like bats and submarines, our new bodies of work function as a sonar to help us determine our respective place in space. Echoes can refer to our process of mimicking the sounds and visuals from our environment- hoping to get a response in return, only for our interpretations to get further abstracted. Locations can refer to literal landscapes but also identity politics, which can be bolstered or mired relative to literal geographic determinations.
